Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding in a respectful manner
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes to the nursing team
- Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly
- Support mobility and safe transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
- CPR/BLS certification (recommended or required per facility orientation)
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; active CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Able to take and document vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and basic safety procedures
- Familiarity with patient transfer and positioning techniques
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic charting and documentation skills
