Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function for assigned patients
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that target functional goals
- Implement therapy interventions and adjust approaches based on patient progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic health record promptly
- Educate patients and families to support carryover and functional outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Minimum clinical experience in rehabilitation or related settings preferred (1+ year recommended)
- Current professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain)
- Active immunizations and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent clinical degree
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
- Experience with cognitive-communication and language therapy
- Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with EHR systems
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
- Comfortable with therapy for adult rehabilitation populations
