Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical function and mobility to create individualized plans of care
• Develop and implement therapeutic exercise programs to maximize independence
• Provide manual therapy, gait training, balance and functional mobility interventions
• Document patient progress and plan updates clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the rehab team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and long-term recovery
• Monitor outcomes and modify treatment plans to ensure measurable progress

Qualifications

• Current New Mexico Physical Therapy license or ability to obtain prior to start
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained quickly
• Prefer 1+ year of clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient, or contract settings
• Must pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong teamwork, communication and documentation skills

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise and manual techniques
• Experience with gait and balance training, transfers and functional mobility
• Familiarity with common modalities and assistive devices
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Excellent patient education and motivational skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
