Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering patient-centered therapeutic interventions
• Implement treatment plans and document patient progress clearly and professionally
• Provide safe mobility assistance and help patients regain independence
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe transfer techniques
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain equipment, ensure treatment areas are safe and well-prepared, and uphold facility standards
• Contribute to discharge planning by communicating patient status and progress

Qualifications

• Current PTA license in Pennsylvania or compact state privileges as applicable
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Prior experience in inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Compact/Travel paperwork and ability to start a 13-week assignment as a contract traveler

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of therapeutic exercise techniques and functional mobility training
• Ability to follow PT treatment plans and perform accurate documentation
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Good clinical judgment, safety awareness, and patient handling skills
• Time management and organizational skills to balance caseload efficiently
• Comfort with electronic medical records and common therapy equipment
