Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled occupational therapy services under the supervising OT
• Implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence in daily living
• Assist with ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and therapeutic activities
• Document patient progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to maintain gains
• Contribute to a positive, safety-focused environment that promotes rehabilitation and dignity

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active or eligible for New Jersey COTA licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working under OT supervision in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab or similar settings is a plus

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of ADL training, transfers, and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in implementing therapeutic activities aimed at functional independence
• Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Time management and caseload prioritization to keep patient flow smooth
• Comfort with rehabilitative equipment and safety-focused care
