Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions and assist patients with mobility and functional activities
• Collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized care plans
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and injury prevention
• Assist with safe transfers, gait training and use of adaptive equipment
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that promotes recovery and independence

Qualifications

• Current PTA license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in outpatient or inpatient rehab preferred but new grads are welcome to apply
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based setting
• Professional liability insurance if required by your agency or employer

Education

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (or equivalent accredited program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven ability with therapeutic exercise, gait training and functional mobility
• Knowledge of documentation best practices and electronic medical records
• Comfortable with manual techniques, modalities and adaptive equipment
• Strong patient education skills and the ability to tailor instruction to different learning styles
• Good clinical judgment and ability to follow care plans developed by a licensed PT
