Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to determine occupational performance needs and create individualized care plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions that improve daily living, independence, and quality of life
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document progress and outcomes in the medical record clearly and professionally
- Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home programs
- Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, safe rehabilitation environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice or eligible to obtain licensure
- Current NBCOT certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain upon hire
- Clinical experience in outpatient or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or Doctorate preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and creating individualized OT treatment plans
- Experience with ADL and IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Strong documentation skills using SOAP-style notes and electronic medical records
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and prioritize caseload
- Comfortable coaching patients and caregivers with practical, evidence-based strategies
