Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based physical therapy treatments under the direction of the supervising PT
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility interventions to improve function and independence
• Document progress, treatment notes, and outcome measures accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, person-centered care plans
• Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and mobility strategies
• Ensure equipment is used and maintained safely, reporting concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Current, active PTA license or certification (or eligible) in Kentucky
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• CPR/BLS certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable working with geriatric and long-term care populations
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Travel/contract experience is a plus but not required

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques, modalities, and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in safe patient handling, transfers, and gait training
• Proficient documentation and charting skills
• Ability to assess functional mobility and implement treatment plans
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and team members
