Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders with evidence-based interventions
- Develop individualized treatment plans that promote measurable progress and meaningful outcomes for each patient
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, OT, nursing, case management) to coordinate holistic care
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers with clear strategies to support carryover and functional gains
- Document evaluations, plans, and progress notes accurately and on time to support continuity of care
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture
Qualifications
- State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (Washington license required or ability to obtain)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or active progress toward certification
- Experience in adult rehabilitation, acute care, or similar settings preferred
- Active CPR certification (if required by facility) and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Strong interpersonal and documentation skills; team player attitude
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia assessment and treatment, cognitive-communication therapy, and language rehabilitation
- Knowledgeable about common adult neurological diagnoses and rehabilitation approaches
- Proficient in clinical documentation and outcome measurement tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to adapt treatment plans to individual patient goals and progress
