Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that support functional goals and quality of life
• Implement skilled therapy and adjust approaches based on patient progress
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes clearly and timely in the EHR
• Collaborate with nursing, PT/OT, social work, and family members to coordinate care
• Provide caregiver education and training to support carryover of strategies
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to advocate for patient needs and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts SLP license required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical credential
• Experience working with adult/geriatric populations, including dysphagia management
• Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner
• Current CPR/BLS certification if required by facility policies

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in dysphagia evaluation and management
• Knowledge of standardized assessment tools for speech, language, and cognition
• Skilled in creating measurable, functional treatment goals
• Proficiency with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary care planning
• Time management and caseload prioritization for efficiency and quality
