Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional mobility and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to restore movement and reduce pain
- Document patient progress clearly and timely using facility charting systems
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other rehab staff to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and injury prevention
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate community resources as needed
- Maintain safe use and upkeep of therapy equipment and treatment areas
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania (or eligible to obtain PA license)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Experience providing outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation care preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and patient-focused communication
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as required for safe mobility training
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy acceptable where applicable
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment of mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations
- Proficient with therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive device fitting
- Knowledge of modalities and pain management techniques appropriate for PT
- Excellent patient education and motivational skills
- Strong teamwork, time management, and clinical documentation abilities
