Shift Type: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, weekdays with every other weekend required (day shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients across the care continuum
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment with confidence and attention to safety
- Assess patient respiratory status, document findings, and adjust treatments per protocol
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on lung disease management, inhaler technique, and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response situations
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current state Respiratory Therapist license or eligible to obtain licensure in Rhode Island
- NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
- Minimum clinical experience delivering respiratory care in acute care settings preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork orientation
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway care
- Proficient in arterial blood gas interpretation and titration of respiratory treatments
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care clearly
- Skilled at patient and family education with a compassionate bedside manner
- Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
