Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and needs using evidence-based OT evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence in daily living
- Implement therapeutic interventions including ADL training, adaptive equipment, and activity modification
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document progress and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on strategies to maximize function and safety
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California (required)
- NBCOT certification preferred or equivalent national credential
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in rehabilitation, post-acute care, or outpatient settings preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) — or equivalent degree required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and therapeutic activity planning
- Proficient with adaptive equipment recommendations and home safety evaluations
- Experience with documentation in electronic health records
- Knowledge of rehab modalities, splinting, and therapeutic exercise
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family education
