Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient function and develop individualized treatment plans that restore mobility and independence
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions, exercise programs, and patient education to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document progress and plan updates accurately and timely in the facility EMR
• Monitor patient safety and modify treatment plans to meet changing needs
• Coach patients and families to support long-term recovery and functional goals

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license or eligible for licensure in Maine
• Degree in Physical Therapy (see Education section) and clinical experience as a practicing PT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable treating a broad adult caseload in a contract/outpatient setting
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or Master's/Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in musculoskeletal and functional mobility interventions
• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and manual therapy techniques
• Proficient documentation and care planning in electronic medical records
• Ability to evaluate balance, gait, and transfers and implement safe progression plans
• Good clinical reasoning and patient education skills
• Teamwork and time management to thrive in a fast-paced contract environment
