Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately to support clinical decision-making
• Assist nurses with safe patient transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient condition
• Support a positive patient experience by delivering courteous, respectful care
• Collaborate with the care team to implement patient care plans and maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Valid Rhode Island CNA authorization or ability to obtain state authorization quickly
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working day shifts and every-other-weekend rotation, including some holidays
• Reliable, local candidate (local-only assignment)
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in providing hands-on patient care and assisting with ADLs
• Proficient at measuring and documenting vital signs
• Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
• Ability to chart accurately and communicate effectively with nursing staff
• Team player who adapts to changing patient needs and priorities
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
