Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve independence in daily living activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Document progress, goals, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on strategies and adaptive techniques to support recovery
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and safe home setups
• Adjust treatment plans based on progress and changing patient needs

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist registration/licensure (OTR) — state licensure in California required or ability to obtain
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Clinical experience in outpatient, rehab, or contract settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills
• Flexible, team-first attitude and ability to adapt to urgent staffing needs

Education

• Master’s or entry-level doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) preferred
• Entry-level master’s acceptable with required licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL and IADL assessment and training
• Experience with mobility, transfers, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Proficient in goal setting, treatment planning, and outcome measurement
• Excellent patient communication and family education skills
• Familiarity with rehab documentation and insurance requirements
