Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate therapeutic interventions under the direction of the physical therapist to help patients regain mobility and function
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers and functional activities to maximize patient independence
• Perform patient assessments and document progress, communicating changes to the supervising PT and interdisciplinary team
• Set up and maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure safe, effective care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques and safety to support continuity of care
• Contribute to care planning and discharge recommendations to help patients move forward confidently

Qualifications

• Current PTA licensure in Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Clinical experience working with adult rehabilitation populations preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and required facility onboarding

Education

• Associate degree or certificate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong therapeutic exercise and functional mobility skills
• Familiarity with documentation systems and care planning
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with PTs, nurses and the interdisciplinary team
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
