Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care to assigned individuals
• Perform observations, monitor behavior and mental status, and document findings accurately
• Assist with implementation of treatment and behavior plans under clinical direction
• Collaborate with nursing, mental health clinicians, and facility staff to ensure safety
• Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral crises and support de-escalation efforts
• Maintain clear, timely charting and communication to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current LPT (Licensed Psychiatric Technician) classification required
• Ability to work in a correctional facility setting (Mule Creek State Prison)
• Available for a two-week orientation and per diem scheduling with daily confirmation
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
• Must meet facility clearance/background requirements as required by employer

Education

• Completion of an approved Psychiatric Technician program (as required for LPT licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric care principles, behavior observation, and crisis intervention
• Skill in therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques
• Competence in accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Ability to follow established treatment plans and facility safety protocols
• Teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical staff
