Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care tailored to each resident
• Help with safe transfers and mobility assistance while using proper body mechanics
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care activities accurately and timely in the resident chart
• Support social and recreational activities to promote resident engagement and well-being
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure a consistent, high-quality resident experience

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (state-specific credentials required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain before start
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations, dementia care experience a plus
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA program or state-recognized nursing assistant training

Knowledge & Skills

• Geriatric care principles and person-centered approaches
• Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Observation skills to recognize subtle changes in condition
• Effective documentation and communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
