Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with compassion and respect
- Support safe mobility and transfers, following facility policies and using proper body mechanics
- Perform routine patient observations and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents and contribute to their dignity and independence
- Document care accurately and timely in accordance with facility procedures
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care that improves quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent as required by the state
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care, geriatric, or similar settings preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatrics and common age-related conditions
- Skill in assisting with activities of daily living and basic care tasks
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Ability to observe and report clinical changes effectively
- Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
