Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with compassion and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, following facility policies and using proper body mechanics
• Perform routine patient observations and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents and contribute to their dignity and independence
• Document care accurately and timely in accordance with facility procedures
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care that improves quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent as required by the state
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, geriatric, or similar settings preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatrics and common age-related conditions
• Skill in assisting with activities of daily living and basic care tasks
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Ability to observe and report clinical changes effectively
• Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
