Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and support daily living needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policy
- Perform routine assessments and document vital signs, changes, and interventions accurately
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
- Assist with wound care, catheter care, and other assigned clinical procedures
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and safe discharge practices
- Adhere to infection control standards and facility safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Maryland license preferred or eligible for Maryland licensure)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Prior LPN experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar clinical setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screens, and health screenings for travel assignments
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing / LPN program
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation practices
- Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical charting
- Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, and basic wound care
- Knowledge of infection prevention, safety practices, and regulatory requirements
- Good time management, prioritization, and delegation skills in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Professional bedside manner and ability to teach patients and families
