Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, supporting activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the clinical team promptly
- Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Document patient care accurately in the chart and communicate observations during handoff
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to promote patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (state-required) — bring your credential and skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Able to pass background check, drug screen, and health screening (TB, immunizations)
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and supportive team members
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skilled in ADLs, ambulation assistance, and safe patient handling
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation of clinical changes
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
- Team-oriented mindset with compassionate bedside manner
- Infection control and safety-conscious practices
