Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support for geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist nursing staff with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the clinical team promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and their families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote resident dignity and quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Comfortable assisting with resident mobility and transfers; ability to lift and move patients with proper technique
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care settings preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with personal care and ADLs
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Accurate documentation and charting habits
• Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
