Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Monitor and report changes in condition to the nursing team to ensure timely care
- Document care delivered and resident status accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and families
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in geriatrics or long-term care preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including assisting residents
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and resident safety
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
- Infection control awareness and safe hygiene practices
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Friendly, patient-focused approach to resident interaction
