Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Assist with mobility, transfers, bathing, grooming, and feeding with dignity and respect
• Support individualized care plans and contribute observations to care team discussions
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — Maryland registration preferred or eligible
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass facility background check and drug screen
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience preferred but enthusiastic new travelers welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assistance: bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observational reporting
• Knowledgeable about infection control and safe patient handling
• Comfortable with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility system
• Great interpersonal skills and teamwork in fast-paced care settings
