Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support recreational and social activities to promote resident engagement
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility care plans and procedures
• Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver consistent, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA or CNA certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe patient transfer and positioning techniques
• Basic charting and observation skills to communicate changes effectively
• Infection control, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and work within interdisciplinary teams
