Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to residents with attention to safety and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Monitor vital signs and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and thorough handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and providers to implement care plans
• Educate residents and families about care, medications, and follow-up needs
• Maintain infection control standards and contribute to a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in the state of Pennsylvania or compact/state authorization as applicable
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Comfortable working night shift in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience preferred but motivated new grads are welcome to apply

Education

• Completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program (diploma or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate charting in the electronic medical record
• Resident assessment, vital signs, and documentation of changes in condition
• Wound care basics and safe handling of treatments and supplies
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Prioritization and time management during busy night shifts
• Empathy, clear communication, and teamwork with clinical colleagues

This is a travel position in Gettysburg, which means you'll be based in one of the most historic towns in the country.
