Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs and resident observations
• Assist with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and staff
• Document care in charts and communicate changes promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain a clean and safe environment while following infection control policies
• Support residents emotional wellbeing and preserve dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to help implement person-centered care plans

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification or T-CNA classification as indicated by the facility
• Current state registry in New Mexico or eligibility to register
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
• BLS/CPR certification preferred where applicable

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA program or enrollment/completion of T-CNA class

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and hands-on experience with ADLs
• Clear communication and teamwork to coordinate resident care
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Understanding of infection control and safety best practices
• Compassion, patience, and respect for resident dignity
