Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents, ensuring safety and dignity at all times
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule, following facility protocol
• Assess patients’ conditions, recognize changes, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team
• Document care clearly and promptly in the medical record to maintain continuity and quality
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and families to create meaningful care plans
• Support infection control, safety procedures, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in Delaware) — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required or willing to obtain
• Comfortable administering medications and performing routine nursing procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a care team
• Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care experience preferred but not required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN nursing program
• High school diploma or GED required; nursing diploma or associate/BSN for RNs

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic and focused patient assessments
• Wound care fundamentals and infection control
• Electronic health record documentation
• Time management and prioritization in a busy care environment
• Compassionate patient and family communication
