Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers and safe positioning to promote comfort and independence
• Take and document vital signs, intake/output and basic observations accurately
• Support the nursing team by communicating changes in condition promptly and clearly
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control best practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance the care experience

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential or eligibility to obtain CNA certification in Maine
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care duties
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable, team-oriented attitude with strong communication and empathy

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding assistance
• Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Infection control, hygiene and PPE use
• Clear documentation and basic electronic charting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
