Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers and safe positioning to promote comfort and independence
- Take and document vital signs, intake/output and basic observations accurately
- Support the nursing team by communicating changes in condition promptly and clearly
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control best practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance the care experience
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential or eligibility to obtain CNA certification in Maine
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care duties
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Reliable, team-oriented attitude with strong communication and empathy
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding assistance
- Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Infection control, hygiene and PPE use
- Clear documentation and basic electronic charting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
