Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and eating
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate, respectful, resident-centered care every shift
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper lifting techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document care accurately and promptly to ensure continuity
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and TB screening per facility policy
- Previous CNA experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as transfers and repositioning
Education
- High school diploma or GED and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and bedside skills
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance
- Clear communication and teamwork
- Comfort with electronic or paper charting systems
