Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care for residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Support resident mobility and transfers safely using proper body mechanics
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care provided to ensure continuity and quality
- Observe and report any changes in resident condition to promote prompt intervention
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and family members to create person-centered care plans
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by the facility
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward residents
- Willingness to work the assigned 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM shift consistently
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program completion — required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Ability to use electronic or paper charting systems
- Teamwork, empathy, and strong observational skills
