Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support mobility and transfer needs while following safe patient handling protocols
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Follow infection prevention and safety procedures to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to promote patient comfort and dignity
• Engage with residents and families to provide emotional support and build trust

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Ability to obtain or hold state CNA credential in Maine as required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Successful background check and drug screening as required by the facility
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled at assisting with ADLs including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and the care team
• Good time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
