Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care for residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care delivered clearly and timely in the resident record to ensure continuity
- Assist with meals and feeding, monitoring intake and reporting concerns
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety procedures
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident experience
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Willingness to complete facility-required health screenings and background checks
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
- Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Good documentation and communication skills with the care team
- Understanding of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced care environment and prioritize resident needs
