Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and assistance with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition promptly
• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers and mobility to promote safety
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure patients' nutritional needs are met
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients and family members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Maine certification preferred or eligibility to obtain
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfortable with lifting/assisting patients and performing physical care duties
• Previous CNA experience preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome to apply

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care and bedside manners that put patients at ease
• Ability to measure and document vital signs accurately
• Good communication skills for working with an interdisciplinary team
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize patient needs
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
