Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility and feeding while preserving dignity
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Background check and required immunizations per facility policy
- Comfortable working with geriatric population and skilled in safe patient handling
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vitals, ADL assistance, toileting, feeding support
- Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
- Good documentation and charting practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
