Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and accurately dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient needs
• Provide clinical consultations and medication counseling to patients and care teams
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and institutional policies
• Support medication reconciliation and safety initiatives during emergency coverage
• Review orders for appropriateness, dosing, interactions and allergies
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate records and support inventory/controlled substance management

Qualifications

• Current, active Pharmacist (RPh) license (ability to obtain/hold Texas licensure preferred)
• Graduation from an accredited pharmacy program (PharmD or equivalent)
• Hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred, especially in acute care or emergency coverage
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent may be required per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or BS in Pharmacy with appropriate licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of medications, dosing and drug interactions
• Experience with electronic health records and pharmacy information systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
• Good clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
