Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-focused care with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility-specific hiring requirements
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills to work effectively on the team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of direct patient care and infection control practices
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills; attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to follow care plans and prioritize resident safety
