Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record basic vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing team
- Support safe resident transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care provided accurately and promptly in resident charts
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean environment
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — state certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Previous long-term care or facility experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care principles and ADLs
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
- Good documentation and charting skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and resident-focused care
