Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs, weight and other routine observations accurately
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Communicate resident changes promptly to nursing staff and document in the chart
- Maintain a clean, respectful environment and follow infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable with resident transfers and basic patient care tasks
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Basic charting and observation reporting
- Customer-service approach to resident interactions
