Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing and mobility support
- Assist with daily living activities and make each resident’s comfort and dignity a priority
- Take and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Help create a warm, home-like environment that supports residents’ emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Ability to work the listed day shift hours (6:30 AM - 2:45 PM) and meet a 40-hour guarantee
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and safe resident handling
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not always required
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain if requested by the facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and dignity-preserving assistance
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, observation and reporting
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Team communication and collaboration with nursing staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
