Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults and older adults in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident goals and continuity of care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions while ensuring a smooth patient experience
- Promote a safe environment by following facility policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license eligible for practice in Maine
- Previous clinical experience in long-term care, med-surg, or similar settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Valid immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program for LPNs or an accredited Associate/Bachelor nursing program for RNs
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Familiarity with electronic health record charting
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff and disciplines
