Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric patients, assisting with daily living activities
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
• Promote a respectful, dignified environment that supports independence and quality of life

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience working with elderly or rehabilitation populations is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and common age-related conditions
• Patient safety practices, including safe transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and physician/nurse instructions
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
