Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care: evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure Medicare and payer compliance
• Perform and interpret gait, balance, and transfer assessments to keep patients safe and mobile
• Use manual techniques and assistive equipment to maximize functional outcomes
• Coordinate with the rehab team and families to set goals and report progress
• Supervise support personnel and contribute to in-service training for staff development
• Participate in community education and facility public relations to promote wellness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Licensed by the State of Louisiana in Physical Therapy (must hold state license)
• Ability to perform minimal assist transfers (lift/control up to 50 lbs) safely
• Comfortable with documentation, billing/reporting, and Medicare compliance

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and development of treatment plans
• Therapy treatment delivery and manual manipulation
• Gait and balance assessment, safe patient transfers, and use of lifts/transfer equipment
• Accurate documentation and billing/reporting practices
• Familiarity with Medicare rules and facility policies
• Patient and family education, community outreach, and in-service presentation skills
• Supervision of support personnel and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
