Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on evaluation and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in the rehab setting
• Deliver skilled interventions including manual therapy, gait and balance training, and functional transfers
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure Medicare and payer compliance
• Collaborate with the Rehab Director and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and report treatment outcomes
• Supervise support personnel and participate in in-services and community education when requested
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home programs to support meaningful recovery

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Louisiana (state licensure required)
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (required by this role)
• Ability to safely perform patient transfers and lift/assist up to 50 pounds (minimal assist transfers)
• Comfortable with primarily hands-on, physical work (approx. 90% physical tasks)

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and development of treatment plans
• Manual therapy techniques and therapeutic interventions
• Gait training, balance assessment, and functional mobility training
• Patient transfers and safe handling techniques
• Accurate documentation, billing/reporting, and Medicare/payer compliance
• Strong communication and patient/family education skills
• Ability to supervise support staff and deliver in-service training
