Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care for a 30-bed mixed unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in collaboration with the care team
- Manage a patient load consistent with a 5-6:1 ratio while maintaining safe practices
- Respond effectively to level 1 trauma and acute care situations when they arise
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude on every shift
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Georgia (GA) or compact state privileges
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg nursing experience; level 1 trauma or mid-to-large hospital experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Travel nurse experience preferred but not required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Experience managing multiple patients with varied acuity
- Comfortable in trauma-informed care settings and acute interventions
- Excellent documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills
- Clear communication and teamwork, with a positive, patient-centered approach
- Ability to follow protocols, prioritize tasks, and maintain situational awareness
