Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including evaluations and individualized treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic interventions to improve mobility
- Assess and assist with transfers, gait, and balance to promote safe patient function
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and report billing information promptly
- Supervise support personnel and coordinate with interdisciplinary staff for patient care
- Present and participate in in-services, community education, and public relations activities
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home programs
- Report and interpret treatment outcomes to inform care planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (minimum requirement)
- Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Active Physical Therapy license for the State of Missouri
- Demonstrated ability to perform transfers and safely assist patients up to 50 pounds
- Comfort with predominantly hands-on/physical work (approximately 90% physical tasks)
- Strong documentation and billing reporting skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic intervention and physical therapy evaluation
- Experienced with treatment planning, manual therapy, gait and balance assessment
- Proficient in clinical documentation and billing/reporting procedures
- Knowledgeable about Medicare and long-term care regulatory requirements
- Competent in patient mobility assistance, transfers, and supervision of support staff
- Comfortable developing and delivering in-service and family education
