Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends; schedule varies by unit and will include holiday coverage (travelers will be scheduled for either Thanksgiving or Black Friday and either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Years Eve/New Years Day). Exact start/end times provided with assignment.

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical patients in an acute care setting
- Utilize EPIC for accurate charting, order management, and patient communication
- Assess, monitor, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with sound clinical judgment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, trauma services, and rehabilitation therapists to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain thorough documentation, including skills checklist and certifications, to meet unit and compliance standards
- Support safe patient transitions and provide education to patients and families with empathy and clarity
- Participate in unit needs including holiday coverage as scheduled to ensure continuous patient care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be verifiable via Nursys)
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in spinal, neuro, trauma, or surgical nursing
- EPIC experience required, please note on your profile
- Certification card required and current (upload to profile)
- Complete work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; references required
- Ability to provide badge-appropriate photo and full demographic info for profile
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong trauma and neuro patient assessment skills
- Experience with spinal cord injury care and neurosurgical patient needs
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record workflows
- Comfort managing high-acuity surgical and trauma cases including gunshot wounds and complex spine cases
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation practices
