Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient condition and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and document care accurately
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers with efficiency and empathy
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care
• Act as a reliable team member during codes and emergency situations
• Mentor and support unit staff to maintain a high standard of patient care

Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to pass facility-specific skills checklist (required for submission)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, wound care, and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Skillful prioritization in fast-paced clinical environments
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety best practices
• Comfort working with interdisciplinary teams and family-centered care
