Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for vascular and endovascular procedures
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during Level I trauma and complex vascular cases with precision and calm
- Anticipate instrument and supply needs to keep cases efficient and safe
- Perform thorough pre-op and post-op patient assessments and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Respond swiftly and competently to trauma activations and urgent intraoperative needs
- Document care accurately and maintain high ratings on skills checklists and unit competencies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — anesthesia, surgeons, techs and support staff — to deliver excellent outcomes
- Support orientation of team members and share travel nurse best practices when called upon
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Georgia (or compact license where applicable)
- Prior travel nurse experience in a large Level I trauma facility is required — please note this experience clearly in your work history
- Strong vascular and endovascular OR experience required
- High ratings on skills checklists and proven perioperative competence
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- CNOR certification is a plus but not required
- Ability to work holidays, weekends and be available for call as scheduled

Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — active RN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep familiarity with OR protocols, sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Skill in vascular and endovascular procedure flow and needs
- Trauma nursing experience and ability to perform under high-acuity conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Accurate perioperative documentation and attention to detail
